Community Care Cabinet

Hardin County Public Library’s Community Care Cabinets provide essential hygiene and seasonal items free of charge to anyone in need. Community members are welcome to take what they need, and donations are gratefully accepted to help support our neighbors.

Exam Proctoring

Hardin County Public Library offers exam proctoring services for students and lifelong learners. Proctoring is available by appointment with at least 3 days’ notice, during regular work hours, and must conclude 15 minutes before closing.  Students must present a valid photo ID, follow exam rules, and confirm that their institution’s requirements can be met.

Kentucky Talking Book Library (KTBL)

The Kentucky Talking Book Library (KTBL) provides free library service to people who cannot read traditional print because they have a visual, physical, or reading disability. Audio and Braille materials are sent to and from users by postage-free mail, or can be downloaded from the internet. A special Talking Book player is provided on loan. 


KTBL has been in operation since 1969 and is part of a national network of libraries administered by the National Library Service for the Blind and Print Disabled, a branch of the Library of Congress.

Native Seed Library

Grow something amazing with seeds from our Native Seed Library, proudly sponsored by the Growing Natives KY! 


Native plants support local ecosystems, attract pollinators, and help preserve biodiversity.

Public Computers

Hardin County Public Library offers free access to public computers at all locations. Whether you need to browse the internet, check email, complete homework, apply for jobs, or print important documents, our computers are here to help. With high-speed internet, essential software, and staff available to assist, HCPL makes it easy for you to stay connected and get things done.


Fax, Copy and Scan Services

At Hardin County Public Library, we provide document services to ensure everyone in our community has access to essential printing, copying, scanning, and faxing resources.
