Dear Reader for Teens Get hooked on a book at our Online Book Clubs! Every week you will be able to sample a new book through your email account! Join here and click to place a checkmark next to “Teen” and fill in your email address. Every day, Monday through Friday, you will receive in your email a five-minute selection from a chapter of a book. By the end of the week, you'll have read 2-3 chapters. A new book will begin every Monday. |

Fresh Start Club! Children 17 and under may "read off" their fines anytime. (Parents, siblings, and friends can read to young children.) And, readers can earn credit for future late fees with this program too! For every 15 minutes you read, you can reduce your fines by $1.50 ($.10 a minute)...or "bank" monies for future use!

Making Math Fun with Miss April: Children in grades K-5 will see in math in a different way after this program! It doesn’t matter if you’re just learning to add or if you’re a whiz with decimals, come to the library on August 18 from 3:30-4:30 to read stories and play games that take math from fearsome to fun! Miss April, Transylvania University mathematics and education student and HCPL employee, will lead the program. No registration is required. Call 769-6337 for more information. |

Story Hour 2010-2011! We have story hour for infants, preschoolers, and kindergartners. Registration is required for Baby and Me Story Hour, Preschool Story Hour, and Book Buzz. Toddler Time is a drop-in program and does not require registration.
Registration will begin on Monday, July 26, 2010. You may register at any time during the school year. Classes will begin the week of August 9, 2010 and run concurrent with the Hardin County School calendar. Toddler Time! Calling all toddlers to the Hardin County Public Library! Every Thursday during the school year, Ms. Marsha will host a drop-in storytime for children ages 2-3. Friday Afternoon at the Movies Come into the library where it’s nice and cool and join us for our Friday Matinees. On August 6, it’s Fried Green Tomatoes. Academy Award winners Kathy Bates and Jessica Tandy star with Mary Stuart Masterson and Mary-Louise Parker in this comic, heartwarming tale of family, friendship and murder in rural Georgia.
